About Me

Hi and Welcome to Breya.

Movement has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My journey began in the world of athletics, where I spent many years training as a Level 9 competitive gymnast. Gymnastics shaped my early understanding of the body — teaching me discipline, body awareness, strength, and the importance of proper movement foundations. Alongside gymnastics, I also trained and competed in ballet, jazz, and hip hop, which further deepened my appreciation for coordination, expression, and the artistry of movement.

After retiring from gymnastics, I continued exploring movement through cheerleading with advanced tumbling, which allowed me to stay connected to the physical discipline and athleticism I had developed over the years. My passion for movement naturally extended into teaching, where I had the opportunity to coach gymnastics for both recreational students and competitive team athletes. Working with children quickly became one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. I discovered how powerful movement can be in building confidence, coordination, and self-trust, especially when taught in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Throughout these experiences, I became increasingly drawn to the deeper question behind all forms of movement: why we move and how movement can support both the body and the mind.

This curiosity eventually led me to yoga.

I first discovered yoga during college, and it had a profound impact on me. Yoga felt familiar in a way that was different from athletics. It brought me back to the natural, intuitive way I moved my body as a child — with curiosity, awareness, and breath guiding each movement rather than pressure or performance.

Yoga offered something I had not experienced in competitive sports: balance.

It strengthened my body while simultaneously calming my mind. It created space for breath, stillness, and reflection. Over time, yoga became not just a physical practice, but a way of approaching life with more awareness and intention.

Wanting to deepen my understanding of the practice, I traveled to Bali, where I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and became registered with Yoga Alliance. Studying yoga in that environment allowed me to fully immerse myself in the philosophy, tradition, and mindfulness that surround the practice. It reinforced the importance of teaching yoga in a way that honors both the physical body and the internal experience of breath and awareness.

Today, my teaching philosophy is rooted in a simple belief:

Movement should feel safe, supportive, accessible, intentional, and kind.

Breath guides movement.
Movement supports the body.
Stillness supports the mind.

Through Breya, I aim to create an environment where people of all ages feel comfortable exploring movement in a way that respects their individual needs and experiences. Every session — whether with adults, workplaces, seniors, or children — is thoughtfully personalized and adapted to how someone feels that day. I prioritize proper progressions, safety, and body awareness over performance or pressure.

My background in gymnastics, dance, cheer, coaching, and yoga allows me to guide movement with both technical knowledge and compassion, creating sessions that are structured yet approachable.

Breya offers slow, intentional, breath-centered movement designed to support the whole person. This includes personalized private yoga sessions for adults, workplace wellness experiences that help people reset during busy days, supportive wellness sessions for senior communities, and confidence-building private lessons for children.

At its heart, Breya is a reminder to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.

The Meaning Behind Breya

The name Breya loosely reflects the idea of expansive breath, inspired by ancient Sanskrit concepts surrounding breath, growth, and inner awareness.

It is also personal. The name comes from the ending of my own name, Aubrey, making the brand a reflection of both my journey and my teaching philosophy.

The letter B subtly echoes the shape of the OM symbol, representing the vibration of breath and the quiet rhythm that connects body, mind, and presence.

Breya is ultimately a reminder to return to Śāntipeace in the body, peace in the mind, and peace in the world.
